2nd Festival for Universal Sacred Music, Roger Davidson (artistic director)

  • 04/11/2006 – The Great Invocation, commissioned by the Foundation for University Sacred Music’s Sangita Instrumental Ensemble and Choir. Nicholas performed in the ensemble with Australian didgeridoo virtuoso Ash Dargan (www.ashdargan.com).
  • 05/11/2006 – concert of interfaith music by multi-instrumentalist composer Kim Cunio and vocalist Heather Lee, also from Australia. Nicholas was honoured to appeared with members of The Sultana Ensemble, led by Israeli musician Yoel Ben Sim-Hon (http://www.sultanamusic.com/index.php).

‘Christmas Midnight Mass’ at St Christopher’s Cathedral, Manuka

  • 25/12/2006 – a celebration of Christmas at a traditional midnight service with carols and the sublime, spiritual sounds of the erhu (Chinese violin).

  • 20-24/03/2007 – a fascinating tale of travel and self-discovery by William Yang with Nicholas on erhu (Chinese violin) and pipa (Chinese lute).

  • 2007 – Nicholas plans to complete a Doctor of Philosophy in Music (composition and ethnomusicology)
